Experience
I have been working or actively involved in the Mechanical Engineering Industry for over 10 years now. I have worked in a number of engineering firms, with a CAD consultancy, defense agency, set up a CAD/CAM system in a school (whilst still a pupil there!) as well as setting up and running my own business. I currently work in my industry of choice, the one I love. Currently I spend up to 17 hours a day solving problems, creating new strategies, maintaining, developing and problem solving. If the challenge of my everyday life is not enough, I take breaks to go running, or to the gym, or to develop my personal skills. For now, here's a VERY quick overview:
I am working currently with a "Paintball Engineering" firm, helping develop their CAD/CAM development and integration. Details of note includes Maztrol 640M training, full CAD appraisal, recommendation and implementation of a suitable system. Future projects include a "Top Down" systems appraisal of working practices as well as developing the IT infrastructure to cope with expansion including implementation of the full invoicing and contacts management system I wrote (see my Visual Basic experience - CV). Currently I'm developing my skills with both MasterCAM and code programming EIA (G codes) and working heavily on SolidWorks. I am working with Mazak Integrex,FH VTC and Haas mills.
Graduated from Loughborough University with a First Class (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering. I worked with many large projects in my time, evidence of which will hopefully come to market soon, Watch this space! Whilst working there I spent much time working in AutoCAD and Unigraphics. Also made regular use of the Pro E workstations (my main CAD system).
